Choosing an evening handbag can be fun, but it is important that some specific things are considered before a handbag is chosen. Some of these things include:

• Size – The general rule is that any handbag used after 6 p.m. should be smaller in size. This means that when using an evening handbag, all a woman should include inside of it are the essentials such as lipstick, powder, a mirror and other small items.

• Fabric – The fabric from which the evening handbag is made is important to consider as well. If a handbag has matched crushed velvet and satin, then it should not be worn with an evening gown unless the gown includes both of these fabrics as well.

• Style – The style should flow when choosing an evening handbag and a dress. It is important that both the handbag and the dress look good together. This does not mean that they need to match, however it does mean that they need to be somewhat similar. For example, contemporary evening handbags should be worn with contemporary dresses.

• Hardware should go together – If a evening gown has silver straps, then it would not look right if the evening handbag had golden straps on it. It is important that the silver and gold are the same on the bag and the dress.

• Practicality is important – It is very important that practicality is also considered when choosing an evening handbag. By considering all of these things, a person can find a nice evening handbag to use.
